UFO pile finishing project

I decided it was time to do something about my big UFO knitting and crochet pile. This I had under the coffee table

It´s a beautiful cotton aran lace sweather that I knitted 3 ( three ) years ago and that will be sewed together. There´s also the ballet sweather started last summer. Needs to be sewed together to calculate how long the sleeves need to be knitted.
There´s also the "sugar" sweather. I have an excuse here due to lack of the thin dark alpackayarn that I needed to go to Copenhaguen to buy.

Walk on the wild side

If someone havn´t noticed I´m into making lingerie these days...I´ve been wearing a very nice white bra today but this one is so cool. This is the kind of thing that´s hard to find in my cupsize.
There are two different weights of powernet supporting the fabric. The fabric is actually from Stof och Stil. Powernet from Handler and Elingeria there I also bought the elastics, The lace is from Handler too.

Geilsk

I spent monday in Copenhagen and did not intend to buy any yarn. That was of course before I visited Summerfuglen....
Geilsk is new to me but they had some samplers in the store and I bought this one in teal

I´m not sure about the fabric due to age; being over 10 I mean but maybee with the proper styling ...or I can always use it as a PJ

The fabric is a recycled top that I got stains on and some stretchlace; the wide from the stach and the narrow one from Stof och stil

Vacation

I started my vacation today and on monday I´m taking the train over to Copenhagen and on tuesday I´ll be off for Celle for three nights, walking the streets, visiting the Sampler museum ( a plan for the last 15 years )some bordershopping on the way home and some more shopping and some beer, I think you get the plan! Oh yes and some knitting.
I´ve started a few things lately, a mermaid jacket by Hanne Falkenberg, a cardigan in Crochet from Drops and some cuffs in crochet.
I´ve also started to participate in a lingerie sewalong and have perfektet a bra but are waiting for more supplies by mail, No I will not show you a picture on that! but you can see the panties I made:


I bought the Jalie jeans pattern and I also bought a beige stretch twill to make a pair from and that will be a vacation project, the weather is quite chilly for june so no plans for the beach yet

Well I spent the morning sewing and it´s so much easier then you already made one blouse or at least almost ...even though this pattern is extremely easy to sew! I did not do the drawstring thing and that will made it a little more difficult.

Mini wardrobe sew along

I decided to join the Mini wardrobe sew along on PR. I chosed the sewalong instead of the competition becourse it´s already mid May and I´m going on a long weekend to Poland next weekend. I´m going on a spa thing to Gdansk.
The rules for the miniwardrobe is that you should pick an orphan from your closet and make a wardrobe for it. 4 thing and it should work together etc etc...
This is my orphan! It´s an Onion 1036 jacket and the reason it became an orfhan is that the color is a cross between burgundy and purple and doesn´t go with my purple nor my burgundy stuff.

My first item in the sewalong is the Karin goes Karin blouse. I bought lace becourse the first one I colored wasn´t enought and then I bought a new lace becourse I wasn´t really satisfied with the second one. This last one is colored too. I also got a striped trim for the sleeves and I´m using this Burda 2975 pattern in size 36-38 and it is still a little too big for me. Hey I could use a size 0 with this sizing!... I´m working on another blouse right now using this pattern. My plan is to iron the crinkling out of the fabric, cut it and when finished spray it with water and the crinkling will appear again and make the blouse slightly smaller. This might be an OOP pattern.

The second item is a skirt using Onion 3020 in the same fabric. My plan here is to use the smallest size and cut 10 pieces instead of 8 and put elastic in the waist
The third item is this McCall 5586 in a kind of slinky burgundy knit. I think I go with view C so I can wear a proper bra under. I might even make in longer to a tunic

The last item is this wrap pants Onion 4010 in the striped flowery fabric in viscose. I´m not making them full lenght, I´m doing what in Denmark is called "sock pants" a good explaination!

And then we came to the fabrics: from the left; pants, blouse and skirt with lace and trim for blouse and the the burgundy knit for the top

But I actually gonna finish the peasanttop I´m working on right now first and then I have to decide if the mikromacrame dress is going to be a tunic instead...

Recycle more!

I like this blouse, it´s a really traditional blouse if it wasn´t for the band at the sleeves

I hade this purple plaid fabric in my stash, a Paris adventure, but the lace was too white

Then I remembered a tric from my quiltingdays; thedying that will last; use in swedish Kaliumpermanganat or K Mn o4. It´s a purple powder that you use a pinch of and the warmer the water the faster the coloring goes and it will be permanent

...much better!

Onion again

I made my second dress from the Onion 2021 pattern and this time I will probably make the A model the basic with long sleeves, but Iwill use elastic instead of sewing cuffs...

I´m also thinking of adding a trim in the neckline in teal and do a micromacrame thing and attach it with buttons in the front so it can be removed then it´s time for laundry.
My first thought was using the rust in the embroidery for the embellishing...

I will go to the GOOD store monday to see if they have something!

Taxi knitting

Taxi knitting has to be simple in a way that you have to be able to put it down any second as well as just pick it up and start knitting.I´ve been working on the "sugar cardigan" adapted to a sweather from Marianne Isagers, knitting a la carte, a book that I think is publiched in english. A really good knittingbook with a lot of wearable clothes that can be adapted to different styles, a lot of them knitted from top down. The sugar cardigan got it´s name after her aunt who wore a similar cardigan for gardening, she traded the yarn for sugar cupons during the second world war

It´s a very simple pattern with a little braid, done in a new way to me; knit both stitches but don´t pull them of the needle, then knit the first one again, slip! I like the way the sleeves are expending by adding stitches between the braids

I´m using the grey woolyarn, the same as for the spede, and a lace weight darker grey from Isager in alpacka, the same as the circular shawl for my mothers birthday. I need to buy more of this so I started a new project. The Miyake from design.club.dk

and I´m using the same grey wool, hopefully i will be enough. It´s a very simple shape knitted in 5 knit and 5 purl rows that are draped on the body.
Then you have to meet Pepsi, the latest and cutest member of our family, lives with my brother and his family

I did macrame once. One thing I made was a belt with a closure with a piece of wood when I was a girl scout. That macrame was lightyears from what Annika does with the same craft. I known about the book for a while and now I have it! Thanks to the excellent service of the net book store

The book has step by step instructions with photos to every project.
So now I have to stach cord too...

The other book is a swedish book about mittens, socks and hats etc, basically all the things you don´t want to knit in april. But it has nice variations to the basic patterns with twisted I-cords in the middle of the projects etc. I will show you later like in the fall.

One of my favourite knittingbooks by Lene Holme Samsoe is beeing published in english I think the name of it is "Knitting feminine" something... If you recall my purple skirt and the blue frost flower cardigan, they are from this book and there are a lot of other really good wearable things in it.

The Marilyn bag is finished. I did it in one week.
