Onion 2031

I spent friday in Copenhagen and bought two of the latest Onionpatterns. This is one of them

Since my plan is to sew more denim I went to Stof och stil here in town and bought 10 oz denim that I turned into a dress, flatfelled seams and topstitching and it looks loke this:

It turned out to be a little to big at the neckline so I cut a V to take away some fabric. I think I would like to wash this before using it and after finishing it I went back for red chambray and I+ve almost finished a blouse too from this pattern.

OK I confess!

There´s been a sewing and handicraft fair this weekend and attended saturday: I actually worked for "sticka" the knitting assossiation in our booth where you could learn basic stuff or ask questions about almost anything. It was a really good fair! No scrapbooking, a lot of different shops attenting I´m showing one picture of a yarnstore, but there where shawls, yarns, fabrics, quilting, sewingmachines and you name it and I bought a shuttle for netting. I always say that I do anytheng exept netting but now I´ll give it a try...

I always liked kumihimo but thought the eqiupment being to expensive and tried some things using a paper disk. This variation is homemade and costs ca 150 crowns. OK I´m in!

If I bought anything? ....... of course I did! I bought yarn for 4 shawls, 2 of them handpainted one in brick and one in lilac from "fröken garn" a store in town that recently moved to new location shairing it with a pattern and fabric store... good combo!

Chanel 2.55 denim

Chanel 2.55

I´ve been obsessed with the Chanel 2.55 bag lately and decided to make one myself. I recearched through the internet and found some measurements and a lot of pictures, mostly fakes I guess... and Today I bought some chains, unfortunately not enought, so I have to go back tomorrow and I also have to go to my notionstore. These two store are in different parts of town....and I´m lazy!
I used denim and quilters cotton for the lining. The construction of the pocket is cool. There Coco kept her lipstic I´m keeping my cellphone

Wardrobe contest

PR is having a wardrobe contest and I´m gonna join! I might not finish it but that´s different thing...
My choise is these four fabric

and the cat supports my good taste

he also likes my riding boots, so good taste is a matter of taste

Anyway I´m planning to sew cargopants from the green fabric, a active wear kind of jacket from the offwhite texture fabric, a sleeveless top from the crinkled patterned fabric and a kind of drawstring top from the retropattern.

A good mileage

I´ve been knitting on the "Ballet" sweather for 2,5 years and now that I was seing the end of it I decidet that I did not like it, and deperately needed to practice my cast on skills I found the Hanne Falkenberg "Jazz" pattern ´what I thought was to much contrast

was now blending beatifully. The pattern is called mosaik knitting and you knit two rows in each color and as always with her pattern do as she says!

The cardigan is knitted in one piece from sleeve to sleeve and finishing bay making the cuffs

The second citron is finished, the weaving linen yarn ran out and the ruffle is in Drops safran


and then I couldn´t help myself...I bought a ball of variegated lace yarn and started a new one

Coolest bras in town

I can´t stop making bras! This one ha´s been visable in the widget to the right for a while. It´s inspired by the bra "Vivien" wears in the beginning of Pretty Woman but I used beige powernet to underline the band to give it structure and support and by covering it with lace I think it gives the illusion of skin

The second one is not finished yet, I need to send for a clousure from Elingeria. This is based on a kit from Kantjeboard and is exactly the same pattern as the black lace ( and as almost all the bras I sewed....

Latvian mitts finished and limewedge started

The latvian fingerless mitts ended up with fingers they became a regular mitt, if anything could be called regular in these color. A good thing we really have winter this year so I can use them.

I needed a "taxi" knitting and decided on another citrus and since I had this weaving yarn in 100% linen I casted on. The linen is not so very fast to knit with but the glow and the color are beautiful! I made 4 sections on the picture and my plan is to use all yarn. I have a simular yarn that I could use for the ruffle if I miscalculate

New Bohus sweather in my hands

I spotted it from outside yesterday and I really don´t know how this could have happened since the patterned yoke is really small and it was hanging on a rack packe with other knitted items.

It´s knitted from the bottom in the same shade like my tobacco but this one has a square neckline that is picked up and knitted as if it was round to make the yoke. At first I thought it was a Rimfrost but after checking at Solsilkes homepage they are simular but with another design.

The quality of the knitting is so much better in this one than in the tobacco.

Cap shawl

I casted on for a "Cap shawl" from "Victorian lace" a circular shawl for ME-MOI-MIG

and at the beginning everything went well but then it was something wrong and I frogged parts of the knitting as learned from the Yarn Harlot

and reknitted it row by row

I´ve done this a couple of times already and will do it again tomorrow...
The yarn is alpacka from Isager ( didn´t buy enought, but hopefully there will be more at Summerfuglen next time I´m in Copenhagen)

Fika with Filippa

We swedes really know how to "fika" Fika means having coffee and we drink a lot of coffee...I think only finland drinks more. You can´t enter a swedish home without get the question if you want coffee before you take your shoes of ( onother habit of ours)

When I grew up the coolest thing you could have was jeans from "Gul och Blå" ( Yellow and blue as in the swedish flag) and I can recall trying to duplicate the topstitching of their jeans in my early sewing days, especially the Marilyn jeans front pockets with a little point with a button on was my favourite. The company does not excist any more but their daugter grew up and became a designer too. She owns the label Filippa K and as a "sidekick" she does china and I collect the espresso mugs. There are ordinary coffeemugs and bowls too. Not only are the shape of the mugs super, there are new patterns coming out, the one to the right are from last year and are inspired by the charms of a bracelet and my favourite the netted lace to the right are so beautiful and looks so much better on the smaller cups. There´s also a net like tuille as well as some more grafic designs

Latvian (fingerless) mittens

I borrowed Veronik Avery´s "Knitting classic style" from the library and fell in love...
There are a lot of nice things in this book and my first project is the fingerless mittens that I make into full mittens. It´s strange going through the pictures becourse I think it´s the first time I´m knitting something from a book in the "correct" colors.
I have a huge stash of basic 2 stranded wool in a lot of colors and the cuff here does not take many yards...
The body of the mitten will be very warm due to the stranded tread on the back and the colors are suprisingly strong and beautiful. I´m not much of a fair isle knitter but this is fun. I already ordered one mor book from the library on russian mittens. We have a swedish tradition on knitting mittens to and I have very nice patterns from the island of Gotland that I might bring out.
I´m graduating from school on wednesday this week and are going on vacation thursday friday and I´m going to spend both days in Copenhagen, doing some shopping, and visit an exebition at the castle there danish designers show work influensed by Queen Margerete´s clothes. The photo of the webpage looks very promising take a look here There´s a link at the end of the page to the photos.
At this museum that is at the royal castle there´s an entrance fee of 60 dkr and also an additional fee of 20 dcr if you want to take pictures... I never seen this before.

Strawberry mousse

Time for some underwear again. The color is really more pink than these picture will show

I used 2 patterns for the bra; Danglez 4 for the cups and Danglez 7 for the band. The lace trim on the band is inspired from a couple of RTW that I have

and I continues to play with the lace on the panties that I used an Ottobre pattern for. Lingeriefabric and lace is really easy and fun to play with. You just sew it on using a narrow zig zag and cut of the fabric after.

I like contrast so I decided to use burgundy bows to finish it off

Trouble with blocking

I knitted a tam in red sockyarn that I bought at PR weekend Kiel and it should be blocked using a plate. I thought I needed a little bigger plate than recommended and put it on a glass so it should dry easier.........
I had to mend two holes befor wearing it!
