Ethel´s coat

I bought this nice coat at goodwill. I think Ethel spent her last days at an elderly home and that her arms where shorter than mine... There are some extra fabric in the cuffs that can be used
I also need to move a button to where it used to be and resew the buttonholes. Then I have a nice warm winter coat. Looks great with my boots but I might want to make a scarf or buy one for it.

New color

It was a remnant, it was cheap, I never whore that color and it was some brown on it så with a nice tan and a brown top I think this will work for summer

Me and Charlie

I took a long walk today and went to an area called The West Harbour here in Malmö. A lot of people were strolling, having coffea like I did.I also visited my favourite shoe store; Ilse Jacobsen and when I went to onother store and looked at nice clothes from Kenzo, Mansted and found some fun jewellery from Me and Charlie fun combos of cloth, swarowskies and pearls.

One more pattern from Onion and a fabric bought at PR weekend in Kiel
The embelishment is from Stoff and Stil and is only on the front pieces. Hems and hook and eye closure still has to be copleted

Yoke jacket

I love Onion patterns. This one reminded me of an Odd Molly jacket from last year but better!!. I used a burgundy - black some kind of velveteen of unknown fibercontent bought last week from the remnant bolts of a shop here in Malmö.
It´was easy to sew. Look at the cute pockets! and I just love the "popeye" arms

and I´m really sorry about the bad pictures!

Spede again

I´ve been writing about spede sweaters before and of course mine isn´t finished yet. I havn´t knitted mine. It´s a combination of doredo and spede. Anyway Inger Ohlsson who has been doing a lot of work on spede sweaters for example she has done a kit on how to knit your own and teach classes on how to decorate them has launched her own website. Redo cardigan

I have a friend who bring me sweathers from time to time. She knows that I like to felt and sometimes the finished items find a way back to her. This cardigan was knitted by her mother probably around 1970-1980
The wool is very nice maybe a little bit too pale for my taste but I´m thinking of over dying it.
and of course I got help from a friend...

Jacket update

UFO jacket

This project has been down for a loooong time but I want to wear it for PR europe so I decided to make an effort. I quit sewing becourse the sleeves didn´t turn out good. It´s onion 1012 and made like a chanel jacket. Now I made new sleeves and are currently sewing trim to the front and hood
with a little help, I´m using the left trim, it´s home dec but matches the fabric in the hood, it´s a quilted fabric bought from the nice lady in Holbeck on PR Copenhagen and the bouclé is from Paris

Nice fabric at Stof and Stil

I usually don´t say nice things about the fabrics at stof och stil but this is a wool- viscose bouclé in a deep red, picture is no good! comes in offwhite, chocolate brown and some othe colors too. I will soon make myself a jacket from it.
Nice price too 159 crowns/ meter

Stajl by Malmö

Stajl is local spelling of Style and this yearly event is for aspiring designers to show their work and maybe sell some. I saw really beatiful jewellery, but I think that most of he clothes show really poor workmanship, sad!

I liked the little girls dresses made from old tableclothes ( look at last picture ).

There where apart from the stands music and fashionshows and S:t Knuts torg ( square ) is a nice place to be, especially on a sunday!

Knitting socks

I´m knitting socks in the most expensive yarn I ever bought. Why? It´s socks and you put them on your feet and in shoes! The picture shows the first attemt with Lorna´s lace Envy. OK but if I payed 200 crowns for the yarn they need to be more than OK so I frogged it! Now I´m working on a pattern called Sheri´s lace from Sockbug ( links to the right!) but doing the toe up from the Branched Fern pattern (that´s the pattern on the photo) What makes this pattern so great is that it´s done like a ordinary heel but from the other end and this way my feet will get into the sock, I consider that´s an advantage. Where will be photos coming but I will not spend this amount on socks any more!

Envy by Lorna´s, teal yarn; Opal, the dark oliv is kauni lace and I´ve started knitting a Shetlandic lace shawl from it. The stripe sock is a new attempt for toe to top knitting. I have high vaults and my last attemt wouldn´t fit my foot. This time I´m using onother heel that looks like an "ordinary" heel.

Collar snoopshopping

I subscribe to Lantliv that is a swedish version on Country Living an I got the new magazine today and in the clothes section they showed a collar from Nygårdsanna ( New collection, not on the web yet ) It was a giant collar knitted in seed stitches and some buttons in front. Imagine a bohustype of sweather and knit only the yoke and wear it instead of a scarf . I can se this done in lace too...and I have a perfect yarn to use for my first one...
I can start as many project I want as long as I don´t buy more yarn, and sockyarn does not count ( I bought my first Lorna´s yesterday, ordered from garnkorgen.se and got it the day after payment even when I forgot to add for postage! That´s service!)

Raggsocks

The socks are finished but they are going to be decorated ( pimped ) with flowers in crochet and maybe som lace. My local knittinggroup are hosting a get- together for doing embellishment the last sunday in september. Everybody is welcome to join!
These socks, my greenish fingerless mittens and the pink scarf are waiting for this date to be finiched and maybee some other items too!

First sock

First sock in knitted and does not have this color, it´s huntergreen and one of the boring sock yarns from Marks och Kattens that´s available in this town!

New sock

I´ve started Ripple weave socks from VK fall 2006. I´ve started them before but did not get the pattern right and I didn´t this time either. but after ripping the fifth time I started to trust my knowlege, the photo and finally got it to work!

New skill

Now I know how to knit two socks at time om circular knitting needles! That means I will not ever do that again. I prefer double pointed needles!

Skill, faith or just luck?
