Dacapo

I´ve wrote of Hanne Falkenberg before and did a homemade version of her Promenade shawl. I got some of her patterns from a friend and had to try it out! This woman is a knitting genius! I started on the sleeve on the Dacapo jacket...

...and look at this edge! The last and first 3 stitches are knit in a special way what keeps the knitted piece from stretching ( as all my bias knitted scarfs do!!!)and the edge looks great too!
Here´s the back piece that also is a part of the front
and here is the sleeve that are going to be knitted together with the back
and then you pick up the rest from the back
and knit them and joining the stitches from the arm, like this
It is really very easy to knit you just have to do as Hanne says!

Now I´m working on the second sleeve ( together with some other projects of course...)

Felted flowers

I went to a computer class last week and the teacher was wearing this scarf. It was made in a very soft net and wool in different colors. I don´t know if she made it herself, but I liked it

Notion for knitting

On our knitting meeting Tuesday ( when we where filmed for a documentary on the new knitting guilds ) We talked about the need for something to hold notions like ruler, scissors,measuringtape etc. Since I use this bag for my knitting most of the time. I decided to use repro cotton Take a look att the zipper, Stick opp is the name of my local knitting group!

Sunday walk

I took a 2 hour walk sunday morning and went through a local fleamarket. I was early and the sellers where unpacking. I saw one woman having yarn, so I asked how much? 5 crowns/ ball or skein!! so I bought this for 60 crowns ( 7 euro ), it´s all wool.
Earlier I went through city windowshopping when I realized that I had the camera with me and snoopshopping on a sunday morning means you can take pictures of the windows! First the window at Nygårdsanna
She makes good quality clothes in a modern folklore tradition and then I saw this blouse that I think is Ralph Lauren:

Workshop

I attended a workshop in different crafts like nuno felting, needle felting, decoupage, silk painting. The bracelet is done in needle felting and are going to be embellished later and the other thing is done layering wool, lace and yarn between layers of disolving "fabric" sewing and then soaking it in water so the "fabric" disappear. I added som sparkle afterward and are going to make a book cover with it on. When we where finished and the teacher where loading the things into her car, she brought a box and said: - look at the jewellery! and we did, lot of pearls and goodies and I would like to share this cool bracelet:

Neck laces in crochet

Pearls on strings, the first one in natural linen tread and clear crystal pearls was done after a trip to Barcelona where a local young designer had a little shop in the Old Town. The other two are made the other year mixture of pearls one at a time in the burgundy an 1 - 3 pearls at a time in the blue. the burgundy is buttonhole twist and the blue is a variagated pearlcotton

Crafty monday

Work in progress

The arms will be narrower, and both the arms and the body is shorter. Are going to add on the lower crochet band, shape the waist a bit and add ribbons at the arms. But not tonight!

Summer dress

Since I started reading " A dress a day" I´ve realized that I don´t have enought dresses so here´s a new addition to my summer wardrobe. It needs blue satinribbon for the drawstring and wider ribbons to tie under the bust. Hereé a detail and the hem is uneven, it´s shorter in front. Try something new each day!!
The pattern is Onion 2009 This is a new version of the pattern, my envelope is missing the ruffles and the long sleeves.

Easy and fast to sew in a quilters cotton, maybe not the best choise for a full bust but with a little or a lot tan I will forget

Flea market find

I found this sweather on a flea market today for 35 crowns, thats about 7 dollars. The condition is really good and it´s cotton and it was wery close to what I was looking for ( how often does that occur?) The reason why I was looking was these picks from, yes of course Odd Molly

Tiara

I know it´s not i tiara but when I pass the mirror and see the light reflect in the crystals I feel like Cinderella! I love the clothes of Odd Molly ( oddmolly.com)! They have cool croched and knitted as well as fabric clothes and this hair piece... inspired me to do this, it was a quick project, same left over yarn, a remnant of lace and some glue- on- crystals. Take a look att Odd Molly! There are at least two blouses to be bought through Anthropologie, link at right.
There where also a belt just like the tiara. What time is it??

Maren scarf

This crochet scarf is from Romantic country strik and is made in Rowan felted tweed in the book, I didn´t have enough of the first yarn but found a match in the pink. They are both Mohair

Noro scarf with buttons

The yarn inside is Noro Ganpi abaka surabu it´s a paper/ viscose yarn and the other yarn is Lino in linen/ cotton ( maybee some viscose ) knitted together , 30 stitches on stitches 6 mm for as long as the yarns last

Yarn and idea from Summerfuglen

Good book

I bought this book at "Summerfuglen" that´s probably the nicest yarnshop i Copenhagen. The book is written by Inga Walloe Pantzar and Ditte Larsen who is the owner of Summerfuglen ( The name means butterfly in english )
This scarf/collar is knitted in Rowans felted tweed and I´ve almost finished mine. I´m using satin ribbons and pearls instead of leather an onion bullets

I love the bags of Jane Burchard. These where showcased at a coffee shop. We are still in Copenhagen and Jane Burchard´s shop is on Köpmagergade 7 next to Illum. There´s a webpage that´s not up yet. The adress will be janeburchard.com

Recycling pants at work

I read a lot of blogs and really need to work on my link section. One of the blogs I read is elegant musing and there I found a link to this page that has been my obsession since and inspired me to do samething with these old pants using whatever I could find. Not my pants are for nspiration only at work.
Next week is easter holiday!!! Thinking of making something for myself. My Debbie Bliss sweather are making progress; I started on the sleeves yesterday, and I´m making a bag in croched, inspired by The happy hooker, no picture yet!

Love me love my shoes

I spent an hour in Västra hamnen ( west harbour ) a part of the city build for an exibition in 2001. In winter windy, in summer as Cinderella would say; absolutely wonderful! We are talking boardwalk, restaurants, coffea, icecream, bath, beer etc etc and shopping. My favourite place to buy shoes are there callad Ilse Jacobssen. Sells a very good selection of clothes too! The first pair was on sale 50% off and the second new for the season!

Lovikka mittens

Lovikka is a place in northern Sweden and they have been making their traditional mittens for a long time until recently then they have to let the business down due to cheap import. This is not a true Lovikka, they are knitted in a yarn simular to thick lopi and usually in white or grey. These are made of regular thick wool yarn using knitting needles no 5 and some leftovers for the embroidery

This is a very rare post here on my blog; a finished item, but yes they do exist! but not to wear with that sweather

Aran cotton

Since I´m frogging onother project, this count as working UFOs. The pattern is from Debbie Bliss but knitted in onother yarn and omitting muches or whatever they are called...
Some of the patterns are challengeing but I got it now! It will take time but I´m in no hurry I have other project to work on if I get bored.

Cuff no 1

It´s very popular in Sweden to knit cuffs and wear as wristlets, very warm and cosy. I bought alpacka from Drops last week and used pearls tone on tone from Stof and Stil that I already had in my stash. I got the pattern from a woman at my knitting group and like the result very much, will string the pearls for the next one today. It´s knitted on sticks 2,5. I bought Vivaldi yarn in a dark forest green for a sweather too. Only 2 balls for the entire sweather on needles no 9!

I´ve finished the top in lime and blue with the flowers. I might use this if it´s really warm and I have a nice tan.
I also finished the striped blue skirt, goes to charity
I finished the orange top from BWF with 3/4 arms and the front in 5 pieces and I love it! Going to put a review on PR for it.
The stripy bag is also done!
Now I´m working on the burgundy skirt in the linen fabric from Paris and I have the hem and some handsewing around the yoke to do.
